—Uber sent an email to all New Mexico users about the recently-signed law that the ride-hailing company pushed for.

You spoke, and your leaders listened. With the stroke of a pen, New Mexico became the latest in a growing list of states to embrace smart ridesharing regulations that support innovation, expand economic opportunity, and put consumer choice and safety first.

We’ve been proud to play a role in strengthening New Mexico’s economy while making it easier, safer and more affordable for more people to move around. And we hope you’ll join us in thanking the leaders, including Governor Susana Martinez, Representative Monica Youngblood and Senator Joseph Cervantes, who helped make this day possible.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without you. Your calls, tweets, and emails made all the difference and prompted elected officials to adopt regulations that work for New Mexicans everywhere. Uber on, New Mexico!

We can say with confidence that no one outside of the marketing department of the company ever uses the phrase “Uber on.”

We’ll remind you that there are still more steps even after the bill’s passage, but despite on PRC commissioner’s vows to fight it, this looks like the end of the line for opponents of the ride-hailing services.

—Bernalillo County Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver was nominated for the Gabrielle Giffords Rising Star Award. Toulouse Oliver is also a Democratic candidate for Secretary of State.

“This is truly an honor,” Toulouse Oliver said. “It’s humbling to be considered for an award named after former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who has been a model for all women of how to lead, even in the most challenging circumstances.”

The award is from EMILY’s List, an organization that has backed Toulouse Oliver.
