Shortly before midnight, New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver issued a statement about the 2024 General Election.
“America’s democratic processes remain the model for the world and New Mexicans turned out in large numbers today to contribute to the great success of the 2024 General Election,” Toulouse Oliver said in a press release. “New Mexico has been the target of much election misinformation over the past few years, but I can thankfully report that New Mexico’s voters were not fooled by the lies and made their voices heard today.”
Toulouse Oliver thanked her staff, the state’s county clerk’s, poll workers, vendors and other local, state and federal partners.
The election day voting and counting is done but the election does not end there.
“As we await national election results, I want to remind the public that all election results on election night are unofficial and it is perfectly normal that vote counting is continuing after Election Day,” Toulouse Oliver said.
