Rain and even what might be Albuquerque’s final snow of the season couldn’t dissuade hundreds of protesters from voicing their displeasure with President Donald Trump Saturday.

The protesters marched through Albuquerque’s downtown, with umbrellas and raincoats, chanting slogans as part of another nationwide day of protest against Trump and his advisor, billionaire CEO Elon Musk.

Albuquerque’s portion of the 50501 protests (name for 50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement) took place Saturday midday, as a light rain turned to light snow. It was the second protest this month, after the “Hands Off!” protest in cities throughout the country, including Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Protesters marched from Robinson Park, down Central Ave. and to Civic Plaza.

Below are some photos from City Desk ABQ photographer, Roberto Rosales.

  1. They’re not changing anyone’s mind, hopefully they are spending some money at local businesses tho. Please don’t think this is something organic, some organization is spending lots of money to hire equip and support their own agenda in an effort to keep the status quo of bloated government, fraudulent and wasted taxpayer dollars, graft and corruption.

  2. The people who continue to insist are wearing masks are the most disgusting cowards. Join Melanie Stansbury in getting help for your deep, deep mental illness.

    1. So you are gaslighting people you disagree with, people whose actions are informed by science and concern for others. You are either sadly misinformed or you are a troll.

    2. Did you vote for Trump? if so, you should join him. In the insane asylum. I’m not bothered by someone who chooses a mask or not. What bothers me is loonies like him destroying our countries, and the lackeys who serve him.

    3. Wear a mask? Sure.
Some people suffer from autoimmunity, where ones own organisms attack ones body. That’s why many wear masks.

If you’re disgusted by masks, you’re going to be unhappy the rest of your life.
After all, people have been wearing face masks longer than we’ve been alive.

Personally, I wear a mask in planes but I don’t in general public.

    4. Hi! People wear mask to not only protect their identity but also their health and their family members! One wrong germ could kill Grandma, and we simply can’t have that. It’s their body too, sooo

  3. Mr. Richter – Are you really this dumb?

People who wear masks have many personal reason to do so…like a compromised immune system like my friend’s husband at 77 yrs old battling cancer! Seniors who need to avoid viruses, people with colds or a cough!

Get educated, Mr. Richter, because European and Asian countries have been using masks for decades, way before the pandemic ever attacked our world! A friend’s son taught in Taiwan for three years as an English teacher to Taiwanese children. When two of his students showed up with blue face masks, high school students, they told him that they had colds but didn’t want to miss their lessons. The students told him they wear masks to prevent teachers and students from getting sick. ITIS A CULTURAL COURTESY! And this was in 2015! Stop commenting if you’re going to showcase your ignorance. And btw, you’re the coward. People wearing masks are courageous to protect their own health or their neighbors.
