Vice President Kamala Harris secured New Mexico’s five electoral college votes.
The Associated Press called the race in Harris’ favor around 9:30 p.m.
Unofficial results show Harris leading with 51 percent of the vote as of 10:30 p.m.
Harris performed well in urban parts of New Mexico, including in Bernalillo County where she led with 59 percent of the vote as of 10:30 p.m. In Santa Fe County, Harris received about 74 percent of the vote.
Republican candidate Donald Trump received support in the oil field, particularly in the Permian Basin. Lea and Eddy counties are the top two oil producing counties in New Mexico. Trump received 81 percent of the vote in Lea County and 77 percent of the vote in Eddy County.
