The flood of campaign emails is over, and will recede into its normal trickle of one or two a day instead of three or four from every campaign every day.

That’s because the deadline for federal races for the first quarter of the year was March 31. Those financial numbers will be available on April 15. The deadline for statewide, legislative and a host of other races was April 2. Those numbers are due on the state website on April 9.

• Jeff Apodaca says Joe Cervantes didn’t have enough valid signatures to make the Democratic primary ballot for governor. He’s taking Cervantes to court over it.
• State Rep. Sharon Clahchischilliage will remain on the ballot after a judge found adding her middle initial to the nominating petition did not invalidate her from qualifying as a candidate. The Republican incumbent from Kirtland is seeking a fourth term.
• All of the Democratic gubernatorial candidates  back bans on AR-15s, which have been used in a number of mass shootings, including at a high school in Parkland, Florida where 17 people were murdered. Steve Pearce, the lone Republican running, says doing so wouldn’t be effective in curbing mass shootings.
• A gubernatorial forum with all four candidates will take place this Thursday, April 5, from 2-4 pm at the UNM Continuing Education Conference Center. The forum will focus on each candidates’ “plans for improving developmental disability, behavioral health, and facility-based long-term care services in New México,” according to the press release announcing the event. The Association of Developmental Disability Community Providers, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Providers Association and the New Mexico Health Care Association are organizing the event. The event will be livestreamed on Facebook.
