Federal agents in unmarked vehicles descended on a neighborhood construction site in Bernalillo County’s South Valley on Thursday. A viral video circulating on social media shows an unmarked SUV accelerating to pass a pickup truck driving down the street, then quickly braking to cut of the truck as at least a half-dozen men in tactical gear emblazoned with “POLICE ICE” rushed into homes under construction. At least one Hispanic man is seen removed in handcuffs as nearby residents watched and filmed.

The incident occurred on Rosemary Ct. near Coors and Sage Rd SW in a neighborhood under construction. The video was captured by an Instagram user who shared it and gave permission for it to be reposted by The Paper and New Mexico Political Report.

A recent report from the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center found that immigration arrests in New Mexico have surged from 20 in July 2024 to 729 in July 2026.
